Reading Logs & Prizes

Sign up for the Summer Reading Program anytime between June 25 and August 26! Help keep children reading all summer long with regular library visits and prizes.

This year you may opt GO PAPERLESS and keep your reading log ONLINE! You will still have to visit the library before August 26th to receive your prizes. Details below.

Age 3 – Entering 3rd grade)

Read and win prizes! Sign up for the program anytime this summer between June 25 and August 26!

FOLDER/LOG "PAPER" OPTION
Each child will get a folder to decorate and bring home with a reading log and activity sheet. The child simply records what they're reading at home in the log, then brings the log into the library to show library staff and win prizes! Win small toys and new books! Books read aloud to the child and books read independently may both be recorded. All children participating will have their name on the wall in the children's room and be invited to a special pizza party at the end of the summer.

ONLINE "PAPERLESS" OPTION
Each child can sign up to participate and keep track of their reading online: online summer reading program. The child will create a username and password and have their very own summer reading page. The child simply records what they are reading at home in the online reading log on their summer reading page. Books read aloud to the child and books read independently may both be recorded. They may also opt to write reviews. The child can print out the activity sheet from the link provided. Every time the child logs 100 minutes of reading they qualify for a prize. If the child visits the library to "check in" throughout the summer, they will get to pick out a prize if they have logged reading since their last visit and don't yet qualify for the 100 minute prize. All children participating will have their name on the wall in the children's room and be invited to a special pizza party at the end of the summer.

Entering grades 4 - 6

Read and win prizes and new books! Sign up at the library to get your log and special activity sheet. Record what you read in your log and then bring it to the library to collect your prizes. Complete your activity sheet and win a "no fines for 6 months" coupon along with a suprise prize. Help fill up our octopus in the "In Between Scene" everytime you visit the library this summer.

ONLINE "PAPERLESS" OPTION
Everything above still holds true, but instead of using a paper log, you can register online here: online summer reading program and create your very own summer reading page with username and password access. You can print out the activity sheet from the link provided. If you will be away all summer, you will qualify for a prize for every 100 minutes logged and you can pick up prizes at the end of the summer, but no later than August 26th. If you will be around, you can enter your log online but still get a prize every time you "check in" at the library if you logged since your last visit and you haven't hit your next 100 minute prize mark.
