SPECIAL CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS -- WINTER 2017



YOUNG ARTISTS SERIES, registration is required
GRADES 4 & UP ONLY


(grades 4 and up)


Participants will view the rotating art exhibit on the second floor of the library and then use the same medium to create their own art in the same style.

  • February 27 at 6:30 pm
  • March 19 at 4:15 pm
  • April 16 at 4:15 pm


CASUAL CHESS CLUB, registration is required
GRADES 3 - 6 ONLY
(3rd - 6th graders)

Get together with other kids who love to play every week and enjoy the game. No formal instruction will be given. Amy, the Children’s Librarian, will teach the basics to children who have never played the game before. A teen “expert” is on hand with tips and challenges.

Tuesdays at 4:30 - 5:30 pm

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT - READ, THEN WATCH!
TALE OF DESPERAUX
Friday, January 26 at 6:30 pm

We encourage families to read the book before you come to watch the movie. This book is a GREAT family read aloud selection for children of many ages and their grown ups. The audiobook is also a great choice for families traveling together.

Reading the book is not required to attend however. We hope you will enjoy watching the movie on our big screen. All are welcome to bring your own snacks to enjoy while watching the film. No registration is required.




FAMILY TRIVIA TOURNAMENT, registration is required to compete
Sunday February 4 at 3 pm
RESCHEDULED FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 4 AT 3 PM


Up to 5 family members can compete as a team against other families in a tournament/game show style event! Each family team needs to have at least one adult member and at least one child member. Some trivia questions will be intended for adults while some other questions may have the children at the advantage.

Registration is required to compete. You are welcome to come only to watch and no registration is required for audience members.


LEGO CLUB
GRADES 1 - 4 ONLY


(1st - 4th graders)


This program will not begin until the Children's Room is reopened and fully functional. Registration is required.

Thursdays at 4:00 - 5:00 pm

GRADES 1 - 5 ONLY
