SPECIAL CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS -- SPRING 2018



EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO OUR OUTDOOR CONCERT ON MAY 5th, PENNY LANE BAND - DETAILS

YOUNG ARTISTS SERIES, registration is required
GRADES 4 & UP ONLY


(grades 4 and up)


Participants will view the rotating art exhibit on the second floor of the library and then use the same medium to create their own art in the same style.

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT: COCO [PG]
Friday, April 20 at 6:00 pm

Watch this new-to-dvd release on the big screen in the Community Center (attached to the library). No registration is required. Everyone is welcome. Feel free to bring your own snacks to enjoy while you watch the film.




BATTLE OF THE BOOKS RECRUITMENT PARTIES
CHILDREN'S TEAM (kids currently in 3rd - 5th grades)
Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30 - 7 pm

TEENS' TEAM (kids currently in 6th - 9th grades)
Tuesday, May 1 at 6:30 - 7 pm

Come to the recruitment party to see if participating in the annual Westchester Library System Battle of the Books is something that you would enjoy. Learn all about what books we are reading, how the whole thing works, and what commitment is involved to be on Team Briarcliff!


LEGO LEAGUE
GRADES 1 - 4 ONLY


(1st - 4th graders)


TAt each meeting, we will read aloud a different story and then participants will create whatever they wish with the Legos provided as inspired by the story that they heard. We will post an album with pictures of the creations for each meeting on the library's Facebook page, along with a picture of the cover of the book that was read for that meeting.

READING TO ROVER (Fall & Spring, Grades 1-5)
GRADES 1 - 5 ONLY
Calling all dog lovers! Help a child to gain confidence in reading aloud and/or build excitement around reading! Registration is required. Details about dates and times for Spring can be found here soon: Reading to Rover Flier and Registration Information SPRING 2018.



CASUAL CHESS CLUB, registration is required
GRADES 3 - 6 ONLY
(3rd - 6th graders)

Get together with other kids who love to play every week and enjoy the game. No formal instruction will be given. Amy, the Children’s Librarian, will teach the basics to children who have never played the game before. A teen “expert” is on hand with tips and challenges.

Tuesdays at 4:30 - 5:30 pm
